Why we built Natura.
A letter from Nate & Callie Walchenbach — on clean living, midnight research spirals, and building the tool their own family needed.
Hi. We’re Nate and Callie Walchenbach, and we’re the founders of Natura AI.
Before we tell you what Natura AI is, we want to tell you why it exists. Because the why is the whole point.
We’re parents of two. And like most parents, the moment our kids came into this world, everything changed. The food we buy. The products we use. The choices we make on a random Tuesday night at the grocery store — they all started to feel heavier.
Callie started down the clean living path first. A lot of it began during pregnancy — she wanted to make sure we were giving our kids the best possible start. She dove in headfirst. Researching ingredients. Swapping products. Reading labels the rest of the house didn’t even know existed. She was doing ten times the work, and Nate felt behind.
But he wanted to contribute. He wanted to show up for our family in the way he knew how.
So he started building.
The problem wasn’t a lack of information — it was too much of it. And most of it was either buried in hours of research, hidden behind closed doors, or tangled up in Facebook group arguments where nobody could agree. We’d search a simple question and end up more confused than when we started. One source says one thing. Another says the opposite. And you’re just a parent standing in an aisle trying to do the right thing at the grocery store.
That’s why we built Natura AI. Not as a tech project. Not as a startup pitch. As a tool our family actually needed. A highly trained, thoughtful artificial intelligence that could give us real, honest insight into health and wellness with backed-up data… without the noise. Without the controversy. Without having to spend an entire evening sorting through conflicting information just to figure out what soap is safe for our kids.
